Correspond Cor`re*spond" (k?r`r?-sp?nd"), v. i. [imp. & p. p. Corresponded; p. pr. & vb. n. Corresponding.] [Pref. cor- + respond: cf. f. correspondre.] 1. To be like something else in the dimensions and arrangement of its parts; -- followed by with or to; as, concurring figures correspond with each other throughout. None of them [the forms of Sidney's sonnets] correspond to the Shakespearean type. --J. A. Symonds. 2. To be adapted; to be congruous; to suit; to agree; to fit; to answer; -- followed by to.
